I have been a member of St. Pius X Parish for more than 40 years. My husband, Kevin, and I were married here in 1983, and all three of our children have received the Sacraments of Initiation at SPX. I am involved as a Eucharistic Minister and a Faith Formation Catechist, as well as a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and a two-year certificate from the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute at the St. Paul Seminary. I admit, though, that my greatest joy and accomplishment has been being able to fulfill my vocation as a wife and mother, in addition to the opportunity, until recently, to be a stay-at-home mom.
My focus as a Coordinator in the Social Ministry Department is to always be aware of and support the inherent dignity of each person created in the image and likeness of God, with the understanding that social justice can only be attained if we respect that dignity. Pope Paul VI said in his encyclical “Gaudium et Spes:” …everyone should look upon his neighbor without exception as ‘another self,’ above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for living with dignity.
