A Community Caring for Life

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you."

~Jeremiah 1:5

Unplanned Pregnancies

No woman should feel so alone that abortion seems her only alternative. No man need feel so trapped or fearful that he believes there is no other answer.

At St. Pius X we are here to offer assistance to those experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. We also assist families experiencing challenges of raising children. There is a wealth of support and referrals to help anyone who comes forward to seek our assistance. Let us walk with you on this challenging path.

Our Community Caring for Life ministry also sponsors a Mentoring Outreach program, and offers information on the adoption process.

Respect Life Committee

St. Pius X has a very active "Respect Life" Committee. Our mission is to raise awareness of the Catholic Church's teachings on all aspects of life from conception to natural death. Our Respect Life team plans various activities to promote respect for life:

Respect Life Sunday: the first weekend of October.

Supreme Court Decision Roe v Wade: we politically protest the Court’s decision legalizing abortion each January.

Spiritual Adoption: we sponsor a "Spiritual Adoption" program, beginning in March. We encourage all parishioners to pray for an unborn baby for nine months, and offer an opportunity to contribute to a Layette Collection at Christmas as a culmination to the program.

Mother’s Day: we make and sell beautiful flower corsages on Mother’s Day each year. The proceeds go to organizations, such as the Total Life Care Center, that assist others in making the choice for life.

Father’s Day: we honor the role of all fathers by giving them special recognition at each Mass on Father’s Day.

Our committee meets approximately three times per year. We welcome new members at any time to our ministry. For more information, please contact a member of the Social Ministry Department at 651-429-5337.
